LADYBUG - a poem

ladybug oh ladybug

you caught me by surprise oh ladybug

my hands were tied

and you came with your gentle touch

a gasp, a pause

and i knew it was you

that all too familiar tone

that spoke with more than words

once with life

showing me to not fear the future

and once with death

showing me not to fear the past

i hear her whisper

change is okay, change is okay

ladybug oh ladybug

when indecision haunts me, your flutter releases me

you remind me

your spirit will lead me safely through all things

your gentle touch once

your flutter

giving me strength

when one life cycle ends

another begins

so if i hesitate

it’s okay

because

there really is no end

there is only renewal.

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

I wrote this poem in a season of great tethering. The uncertainty and indecision of my quarterlife crisis was calmed by the gentle touch of a ladybug, when I was in Nashville, TN. When I said no to moving there- I knew it was the right thing for the season I was in. I decided to stay, but still travel to Nashville quarterly to continue building clients and wait for the right timing. On one of those quarterly trips that I returned to Nashville, I saw a dead ladybug on the floor of my room. And it slowed me down, and brought me to reflection. and this poem was birthed. Thank you for reading and supporting my soft journey.

xx,

Trinity Rose
